I think we don't need an introduction to prakash jha a filmmaker whose films make an impact to heart of viewers. Film which can be said the mirror of a society are today confined to a single purpouse that is money and money. The Films should not be concerned to entertainment only but they have a social responsibility. They make a mass effect on mind of viewer so should be take care to make and he is master to do it. He is a person attached with is soul an thinks for it.
He born at Baraharwa, Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar and after his schooling he went to delhi to pursue his graduation. While studying in B.Sc.(Hon) he leaved it and went to Bombay to become a painter but fate brings him into film making. He started his work independently and made his first documentary named "Under the blue " in 1975. His first documentary who received a considerable attention was "Faced after Storm"(1984) who was banned within 4-5 days of its release. Later it won a National film award for best non feature film. He was also involved in political and social activities.
Today he is well known for his reasonable movies and have a good reputation. His efforts really changed the trends of film making. He showed that films based on social issues can also be entertaining and can do a good business too. He has a team of actors who seems to be a perfect match for his films.
Manoj bajpayee, Om puri, Arjun rampal, Ajay devgan, Nana patekar, Mukesh Tiwari, are the
most fvoruite of him and at least few of them can be seen in any of his
movies. His characters are not larger than life because his stories belong to the common man's life, his characters also belong to our daily life. They might be cruel , they might be humble having different shades they connect to the audience very easily. Gangaajal, Apaharan, Arakshan, Raajneeti are some his masterpieces. The most importantly he provides a film which you can enjoy with your family. After so many films which were all based to a social evil he is back again with a film on such a burning issue that only he can justify; Naxalites. We hope he continue his work and establish several milestones for others.
